The site, designed and built by Torquay\’s Insignia Creative, has been created with functionality at the fore, with the ability for it to be used as a training tool also key.
\”We have a very niche business selling veterinary products which we ship across the world. We needed a website which would help to answer customers’ queries which we could also use as a tool for teaching and training as well as showing our products,” explained office administrator James Drake. “We have more than 30 videos of our products, each one explaining what the product does and how it should be used.\”
And he said the site is now able to give customers a vast amount of information which is ideal for informing existing and new customers about Vetronic and its skills and services.
“Anyone can have access to the site at any time,” said James. “They now don’t have to wait until we’re open to phone us up. We’ve made sure that the site can be used as a resource base, with articles about aspects of the veterinary industry, training and learning articles and also details of talks.”
Richard Netherclift, Insignia Creative MD, added: “Our initial instructions were to make the site more modern with the same functionality but after speaking with Vetronic again, we realised the website could offer so much more.
“From the initial brief we created a completely new site specification and navigation which includes not only general information about the services but also in depth product pages.”
He added: “We deliberately kept the design of the site very simple as we didn’t want users to be distracted from the important information which is on each page.
“In addition, there are a lot of relationships happening throughout the whole website, with products related to news articles, talks and the knowledge database. These relationships draw people from one section to another feeding them through the website.”
The site has been built using a content management system so Vetronic can add new articles which also auto tweet to their Twitter account.
As James said: “Our old website was very dated; we couldn’t change anything ourselves and decided we needed something a bit more modern.
“We’re now able to change pretty much everything from anywhere – computer, mobile or tablet; it’s a great tool to be able to have.
“And the contact form is a great feature which we didn’t have before. We’ve already had several genuine enquiries through the website.”
