igus UK offer a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes at an exhibition
More information: igus UK at Offshore 2013
Global innovators and leading energy-chain specialists, igus UK, exhibited at Offshore Europe 2013 in Aberdeen at the start of this month. As a way to say thank-you for the constant support of both new and returning customers, igus UK want to give you all a sneaky glimpse of what happens behind the scenes at an exhibition, and more importantly what exactly happens to the stand when the exhibition is over?!
Once the stand has been constructed, igus employees from around the globe filter onto the area to merchandise the stand in a way to make it friendly and inviting to visitors. The open sides and upfront refreshments relax the overall atmosphere creating an open and inviting arena for the igus products to be showcased. In this instance, the real star of the show was the E4.350, the largest plastic energy chain in the world which is suitable for carrying large cables and hoses. igus energy chains are manufactured from high performance plastics making them tough, resistant to corrosion and impact offering high UV, temperature and precipitation stability. They are lubricant-free so require no maintenance and have very long working lives, making them an extremely cost-effective choice. An extensive range of polymer bearings and flexible cables also framed the main attraction. As soon as the show doors opened to the public igus applications were turned on for live product demonstrations of which we promised to carry out on Twitter.
2:30PM soon came around on the final exhibition day and the doors were well and truly shut to the public. All exhibitors raced to tear their stands down where the halls soon turned from a busy, vibrant and inviting hub of activity to absolute chaos and deconstruction. Pick up trucks and companies logistical teams infiltrated through, dismantling machinery and turning the hall back into an empty life-less shell.
Large components and igus machinery is eventually shipped back to the head office in Cologne, Germany, ready to be used for other exhibitions and opportunities.
Catch igus at the NEC in Birmingham next week (25th-26th September) where they will be revealing their high performance tribo-polymer bearings, energy chains and cables on stand G11 at The Machine Building exhibition!
