Blackpool marketing agency Happy Creative have become one of the first companies in Lancashire to design a logo for social media platform, Snapchat.
Designers at the agency have come up with a unique Blackpool geofilter which users can add to their snapchats whilst in the resort.
Snapchat has become the social media platform for sharing instant images with friends around the world with many brands also getting involved in promoting their company.
Geofilters are special add-on images which tell the receivers of the snap where in the world the user is when they took it. It is hoped the new Blackpool filter will help promote the resort by users showing they are having fun in the UK’s most popular seaside resort.
The filter has been made official by Snapchat hierarchy and can be used now so long as you are snapping from Blackpool.
So, if you are shopping at the Houndshill, taking a pic at the top of Blackpool Tower, strolling along the Golden Mile or taking a snap at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, you can use the new geofilter to enhance your chats.
Geofilters have become popular across the UK and the rest of the world with many cities and attractions attempting to cash in on the social media phenomenon.
John Filmer, Account Manager at Happy Creative, who came up with the idea, said: “Snapchat is fast overtaking many other platforms for sharing images instantly and while others can tag your location, only this one actually shows the filter on the image.
“The designers here at Happy have come up with a great image which shows all the fantastic attractions Blackpool has to offer and we hope it will enhance the users experience while in the resort.”
