HRH The Duke of Cambridge’s passionate speech recently as patron of the English Schools’ Swimming Association is being blatantly ignored in His Royal County of Berkshire. Wokingham Borough Council chiefs are planning to demolish a school and community swimming pool against the wishes or needs of the school, parents, and residents, ignoring requests to withdraw the proposal based on a clear lack of evidence that such a move is needed. Borough chiefs defend the proposal saying it will allow for the school to expand, however have not addressed key concerns from residents over traffic, safety and questions over whether the expansion is needed at all.
