Available in a fresh powder pink colour, the quirky shoe boasts a glittered metal penny bar and a thin veil of micro glitter. Its shiny snake effect finish was obtained through a special laser process that creates subtle stripes and silvery reflections on the leather. Staying true to the Italian house’s renowned craftsmanship, the one-of-a-kind glitter gommino features exposed handmade stitching, a hot stamped monogram and iconic rubber pebble outsoles.
The story of Tod’s signature loafer began in New York City towards the end of the 70s. When a vintage driving shoe was discovered at one of the city’s flea markets, it gave rise to the idea of creating a stylish loafer that was perfect to wear in both elegant and casual settings – a concept that was unheard of before.
The art of creating one single gommino has still retained its authenticity. It takes 35 pieces of the world’s finest leather to create a single shoe and each piece needs to be checked and treated individually before been assembled and hand-sewn. The finished product is the result of a series of 100 steps.
