To borrow their own slogan, the NFU (National Farmers’ Union) ‘is its members’.
Formed to bring passionate, like-minded people together, the NFU focuses on achieving change and representing its members’ best interests to achieve better results and standards for the farming industry.
The future of British agriculture and horticulture depends on the NFU. It works with its members to campaign for a sustainable industry and fights against anything that might threaten it.
The voice of British farming for a century
Established for more than 100 years, the NFU has a powerful, unrivalled voice when it comes to championing farming in England and Wales.
Representing both farmers and growers, the organisation now boasts 55,000 members and estimates that around 70% of all full-time farmers belong to the NFU.
Whether you need some advice, a little information or full representation, the NFU is a strong and supportive body to have on your side. You can choose from a range of membership options, as outlined on their website.
The NFU Farm Energy Service
Another facet of the NFU, the Farm Energy Service was launched to help members find trusted renewable energy providers: providers that have been thoroughly vetted to ensure they provide the best possible service, so NFU members know that they are buying from a reliable source.
What’s more, your NFU membership will reward you with a 5% discount on biomass boilers (or other renewable energy technology). So you could net yourself savings in the region of £1,500 on a single boiler.
Treco has been awarded a place on the NFU’s list and their biomass boiler service has been fully vetted by the organisation.
So if you’ve been thinking about investing in biomass boilers, joining up with the NFU just became even better given that buying with confidence is key. And saving a chunk of cash in the meantime is just the icing on the cake.
Membership benefits
Joining up with any respected association usually brings about some impressive benefits, which helps you to recoup the cost of joining up.
Over the years, the NFU has negotiated some attractive deals to offer their members, including:
