VIVALDA acquires new premises in Birmingham
• VIVALDA relocates Birmingham branch to former Valspar site in Nechells
• Centrally located premises provide plenty of space for growing company
• Royal Bank of Scotland supports acquisition with undisclosed funding
2nd February 2016 – VIVALDA, the independent supplier and distributor of cladding panels and building boards, has relocated its Birmingham branch to new premises in the city.
Supported with funding from Royal Bank of Scotland, the company has acquired the former Valspar site at 95 Aston Church Road in Nechells. It is planned that the 70,000sq ft property will be used to house VIVALDA’s Birmingham operation as well as providing centralised Group fabrication and storage capability. Some head office functions will also be supported from the base.
Originally incorporated and established in London in 1999, VIVALDA opened its first Birmingham location in 2002. The company supplies the construction industry with high specification decorative cladding panels, rainscreen cladding, building boards and fire protection boards. VIVALDA has achieved a steady and sustainable rate of growth since its inception and has branches in London, Hull, Manchester and Scotland. It employs 70 people across its five locations and anticipates a further 15-20 jobs will be created over the next 12 months.
Ben Jayes, Managing Director of VIVALDA said: “Our Birmingham branch has operated from rented premises in Aston for the last 10 years and during this time we have completely outgrown the facility.
“When the lease came up for renewal we knew that we needed to look to move somewhere larger and that we wanted to invest in our own premises rather than another rental site. Our new home in Nechells is fantastic. It is centrally located and surrounded by a great road network which means it is brilliantly accessible. The site needed minimal renovation work to be made suitable for our needs and has plenty of space for the business to continue to grow into.
“We have had excellent support from Lindsay Crooks and the team at Royal Bank of Scotland. They have provided us with funding to support the buildings acquisition costs and have worked alongside us throughout the entire purchasing process.”
Lindsay Crooks, Senior Relationship Manager at Royal Bank of Scotland said: “Ben and the team at VIVALDA have made a great step in acquiring their new premises. The site is brilliantly located and offers plenty of space for the growth of the business. We have worked with the company for many years and look forward to continuing to support the business.”
